FKF Electoral Board Chairperson, Kentice Tikolo, has given an update on the preparations of the County Elections set to begin on Saturday, March 14, 2020.
The elections will take place in nine counties: Kwale, Kisumu, Garissa, Nyeri, Kisii, Turkana, Trans Nzoia, Nairobi West and Nyamira.
All polling stations in the contesting counties will open at 9 am and close at 5 pm and will be under tight security of the Kenya Police allowing no person to access the stations without proper accreditation.
The counting of votes will be done at the polling stations with the tally sheet pinned on the wall and scanned to the Central returning officer, Ali Hassan Kauleni.
The provisional results of the county elections will be published on Monday, March 16, 2020, to open a window for disputes, if any, concerning the elections before publishing the final results.
In case of a tie in the elections, the board will conduct a repeat election for the affected areas on Wednesday, March 18, 2020.
The board will then release the voting delegates for the National elections scheduled on Friday, March 27, 2020 at the Kasarani Indoor Gymnasium after the release of the final results of the County Elections.
